FAQ

How Should I care for my light catchers?

All of our products are handmade, which means they are somewhat delicate. Please handle gently in order to prevent the crystal prism from breaking. Do not pull. Make sure it’s securely hanged to avoid dropping.

Indoor use recommended.

Polymer clay components care - Wipe gently with a lint free cloth to remove dust.

Crystal Prism care - Clean crystal with a clean cotton cloth. Just ‘huff’ on your crystal prism from all angles, like when you polish your sunglasses. Do not drop. Handle with care.

If you hang your light catcher right against the surface of the window, make sure they are not in a place where they will swing or bump against the glass over and over. The crystal prism can, in time, wear down and appear dull or heavily scratched.

Brass components may tarnish and darken over time  but can be easily cleaned with a soft jewelry cloth and/or tarnish remover.

Is your packaging recyclable?

Every single part of our packaging is 100% recyclable, and some of it is even compostable! (100% plant-derived tape and peanuts). Please reuse or recycle.

What is Polymer clay?

Polymer clay is a moldable, sculptable type of vinyl that cures to a permanently hardened state with heat at very low temperatures. It’s a versatile art medium and extremely lightweight and bends before breaking (Do not test out the flexibility or force it because it may break!).

Unlike ceramic, polymer clay will not shatter if dropped (but do not test since the glass crystal from the light catcher may chip!). Please be gentle with your light catcher as it's still fragile.

Note on Sustainability

Although polymer clay is a plastic product, I hope that they have long lives in your collections and are repurposed, regifted or taken to second-hand stores rather than to landfill.

I have also taken steps to make sure that I am using polymer clay in the most sustainable and responsible way possible. This is why I focus on small batch collections. Each piece of the light catchers is handmade from scratch from start to finish.

No clay goes to waste during the making process and all clay scraps are saved to create new colors, patterns and designs.

Keep in mind about Polymer Clay + Glass Crystal prisms

Our light catchers are made by human hands. Imperfections and natural textures are embraced.

Polymer clay can be a bit unpredictable, so you might notice very small imperfections in some pieces such as small air bubbles, and a slight difference in color from online to real life. This will not effect the functionality or aesthetic of the design.

Some crystal prisms might come with very tiny scratchers from our suppliers. This will not effect the functionality or aesthetic of the design.
